We are committed to providing a high-quality legal service to all our Clients and Seafarers. When something goes wrong, we need you to tell us about it. This will help us improve our standards.
Should you have a complaint whilst onboard a vessel, following placement by Oceanside Recruitment LTD, you should follow the complaints procedure onboard. At any time, you are directed to contact the MCA at [email protected] or by telephone Tel: +44 (0) 23 8032 9538. If you have a complaint or grievance concerning the conduct of OCEANSIDE RECRUITMENT LTD, please contact the company Directors Hannah Janes and Clanjo Fourie at [email protected] & [email protected] or you can send a letter in writing to Oceanside Recruitment ltd, Allergri & Co, 16c Sandown Road, Lake, Isle of Wight, PO 369 JP with the details. We have four weeks to consider your complaint.
What happens next?
We will send you a letter or email, acknowledging receipt of your complaint within three working days of receiving it, enclosing a copy of this procedure.
We will then investigate your complaint. This will normally involve passing your complaint to our company Director and active CO-Founders, who will review your complaint.
Oceanside Recruitment ltd will then invite you to a meeting to discuss and hopefully resolve your complaint. S/he will do this within 14 days of sending you the acknowledgement letter.
Within 14 days of the meeting, Oceanside Recruitment ltd will write to you to confirm what took place and any solutions s/he has agreed with you.
If you do not want a meeting or it is not possible, Oceanside Recruitment ltd will send you a detailed written reply to your complaint, including his/her suggestions for resolving the matter, within 21 days of sending you the acknowledgement letter.
At this stage, if you are still not satisfied, you should contact us again, and we will arrange for (another partner or someone unconnected with the matter at the firm or, for a sole practitioner: Oceanside Recruitment to review his/her own decision or an appropriate alternative such as review by another local solicitor or mediation) to review the decision.
We will write to you within four weeks of receiving your request for a review, confirming our final position on your complaint and explaining our reason.

OUR MISSION AND STATEMENT
OCEANSIDE RECRUITMENT LTD mission is to effectively promote and protect the employment rights of each seafarer in which we engage.
In accordance with the MLC 2006 code, OCEANSIDE RECRUITMENT implements a range of processes and procedures to promote the fair treatment of all Seafarers who seek employment through us which includes, but is not limited to:
Interviewing: We Interview each candidate who registers with our agency with the same care and attention, regardless of their age, gender or nationality.
Personal Data: We keep candidate personal data confidential, and we will send their CV to a third party only with their permission.
Blacklists: We ensure that no blacklists or other mechanisms are used to prevent candidates from gaining employment for which they are qualified.
Cost of employment to Seafarers: We ensure that no cost, remuneration or other form of advantage from registered or potential candidates is exchanged. In accordance with and as per MLC 2006 convention code, seafarers in every instance have fair access to a system in which to find employment on board ships without charge to the seafarer.
Basic mandatory qualifications requirements: Each candidate is expected to fund their own qualifications to deem them employable relative to the position they are applying for. However, the basic mandatory qualifications to gain employment on a ship are ENG1, STCW10, Seafarers discharge book, Security Awareness and a Passport.
Age Restriction: We do not place any candidate on a yacht who are under 18 years old.
