ETO Job Description

​This engineering role is specifically focused on the AV/IT systems on board including electronic, computer, audio/visual and communications equipment and their efficient operation. This includes the radio, radar, telephones, satellite communications, navigation systems, computers, Internet connection, interior equipment, TV’s, sound systems, movie projectors and making sure every guest can watch a movie on the iPad if requested. The ETO may also be asked to help with other engineering duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-day maintenance of all electronic, computer, audio/visual and communications equipment and ensures its efficient operation
• Ensuring that all planned maintenance work takes place on these systems and co-ordinates operations with shore-side technicians
• Increasing knowledge of all systems on board
• Continued education and licensing

Required Skills

• Prior experience working with IT/AV equipment

·       Ability to work under pressure

• Team player, able to assist with some deck duties; line handling, water sports
• Flexible and adaptable
